Does anyone know anything about the Metropole South Beach, located at 635 Collins Ave? Seems to be a brand new hotel and was wondering how it is... Any info would be helpful. Thanks!!
Metropole South Beach?
Need the same info!
Metropole South Beach?
I have reservations for this upcoming weekend. I%26#39;ll report back next week.
Metropole Hotel is brand new and from what I hear and have seen the hotel is very nice. All one bedrooms suites. It is also very quiet compared to most SOBE hotels
I don%26#39;t know the hotel, but know the location. It is quite a ways from South Beach, you%26#39;d need to take a bus or cab to get down to Sobe, i.e. it%26#39;s a loooong walk. That area doesn%26#39;t have much except hotels unless you go north a little bit. Then you can find some restaurants, drugstores, etc.
Did you get a good price on it?
Regards,
Robin

OK, just spent 3 days at the new Metropole South Beach and overall it was a good experience.
First of all, the Metropole is right on Collins Ave between 6th and 7th, so it is 1 block from the beach and Ocean Dr, right at the south of the %26#39;hot spot%26#39;. A short walk, and the nightlife is yours.
They have free valet parking, which will save you at least $10 per day.
The rooms are all converted apartments, so they all have 1 or 2 bedrooms along with a living room and a full kitchen. Be sure to bring your coffee and cone filters and you are all set. They supply pots, pans, dishes, cups, glasses, and silverware, even a can opener and coffee scoop.
The bedroom is very small, but big enough for the king bed, and it has a large walk-in closet. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is small but fine. The 4th floor room was very quiet.
The floors are Pergo, the pull-out couch is leather and the 2 plasma HDTV%26#39;s are a nice touch, along with the IPod docking station. The kitchen table has 2 chairs, great for breakfast for 2.
Overall, this hotel offers almost no service, but the rooms are nice and well worth the price (I got the half-off deal). The location is excellent.
Any other questions? Ffeel free to ask.
BTW, CVS is 1 block away, and there is a great diner just up the block. Good restaurants 1 block away, banks on the corner, and the bus up Washington Ave is 25 cents.
Ignore the previous blast from robinsnest, they are just beating up on a competitor.
Mrucko, thanks for the excellent post as the review is
exactly why many people value Tripadvisor.
Thanks so much for your postings on this hotel...PLEASE..anyone that is going there, or perhaps took that TRAVELZOO deal ...let us know how it is. I booked for January at 87 bucks/night...which in SOBE could be a rat trap...so thanks for all of you who have posted..anyone with reservations..please keep them coming. They%26#39;ve been VERY Helpful.
I walked by there last week and was really impressed... I%26#39;m definitely going to try and stay there when I go to Miami next time.
Can you tell us more? I%26#39;m booked on the Grand Opening Special too but for next month and it included more than you mentioned - minibar restocking daily, a welcome gift, etc. - in addition to the free valet parking. Did you get this? They%26#39;d lose a fortune on us if they really do restock the bar daily!
A friend who was there last weekend and did some scouting for us said it looked a bit rough around the edges - unfinished, with paper over the (presumably ground-floor) windows. Maybe that%26#39;s just retail space yet to be rented, but is construction done? The Google Streets image was obviously taken a while ago...I hope...as it shows real reconstruction going on.
Any info from the OP, subsequent guests or locals greatly appreciated. We usually stay at the Sagamore (same idea - an apartment instead of a room) but their price$ have gone past my pain threshold. The Metropole looks like an alternative - not as well-located, to be sure - but never having seen it, I%26#39;d like to know more.
