First time to Orlando

My family are making our first ever trip to Florida in March 2010 and was wondering about the parks - ie which ones to go and see and which ones to miss out. The children will be 10 and 7. Any information on parks and also is it better to get a 14 day walt disney pass or just take it day by day.

Thanks in advance

First time to Orlando

Best to start out checking all the Theme Park Websites and get an idea of what kinds of rides and show are of interest

For up-to-date info on Disney Parks and Universal

www.wdwinfo.com

for Seaworld

www.seaworld.com/orlandoparkinformation

There are lots of other smaller parks as well and tours that are available at

www.gatortours.com

The 14 day Disney Ticket is recomended so that you can come and go as much as you like during your stay. I recomend buying it in advance at a Discount.

Happy Planning :)

First time to Orlando

You have lots of time for planning and arranging etc.

Stick with this forum and you will find everyone happy to help with info. etc. However I would suggest you get a copy a good Orlando guidebook. I think the one I use is called the Unofficial Guide to WDW which is brilliant.

At this stage I would try not to get too bogged down with detals just read the guide, browse some websites then make a few notes/questions.

Have you made any flight/accomodations bookings yet?

All the parks are good, you don%26#39;t need to give any a miss. How many days will you be coming for? 2 weeks, or more?

The 14 day disney ticket will give you a lot of flexibility. If going for more than 2 weeks, add in a universal ticket too, but make sure you leave a number of non parks days to relax and recharge. Maybe even see some more of Florida like the gulf coast if you are going to have a car.

Although this website forum has useful information I suggest you try allears.net and mousesavers.com for dedicated information and a website about Disney attractions.

Depends on the length of your vacation, but I would not try to overdo it. Some folks try to see as many and all the parks in one trip and then are just exhausted and frustrated w/ the lines and such. Suggest you research the parks, including SeaWorld and find attractions that interest your children. Then select a couple of parks and visit w/ multi-day passes. Someone else suggested the Gulf - check on weather/temperature conditions in March. Are you going in 2010 (next year) or 2009 (this year). Suggest you look at some travel books - like Frommers or Fodors guide to get an overall picture of things to do in the Orlando/Central Florida area.

Good luck.

With those ages of the children, plan to visit as many places as you can, as all the parks will offer something for them.

I would recommend the 14-Day Ultimate Disney ticket for unlimited access to all things Disney.

I would also recommend the Orlando Flexticket to cover Universal, SeaWorld, and the other waterparks. Include the Busch Gardens park if you think you can get to Tampa.

This is a great board re: disney but I%26#39;ll add www.disboars.com. The first trip is always the best.

May i welcome you to the Addiction called Disney and say with out fear that you will be here for many years after your first trip.

As to your question, do it all and come back and spend the next year telling everyone about it .

Ill see you in the clinic dedicated to Disney mania lol :)

since you got lots time to save id get the 14 day passes.we went for first time 2007 and got 14 days for all 5 of us,my personal view is if your going all that way and got time to save why budget its the holiday of a lifetime :卢).going again in 2 weeks we can%26#39;t wait lol

tahnks for your reply, much appreciated and yes we are flying with Virgin and staying in the Sheraton Safari Hotel.

Thank you everyone for your information and recommendations - we can%26#39;t wait even though we have over a year until we go. Many people have recommended the 14 day disney pass which I think is the one we will eventually go for but like many of you have said I will keep on this website for more information.

Once again thanks
