Shortest trip from Miramar Beach to VPS airport

What%26#39;s the shortest way to get to the airport from Miramar Beach? According to Mapquest, it looks like we can go two ways:

1) Over the mid-bay bridge to left on 20 through Niceville, to 85 past Valapariso to the airport

OR

2) 98 to FWB then north on 85

Option 2 looks shorter but I%26#39;m thinking it may take longer due to the lights and traffic through FWB.

We have to leave in about an hour to pick up my husband so hopefully someone can weigh in soon!

Sorry I%26#39;m too late here, but it is really 6 in one and 1/2 dozen in the other.... The only difference is one way you pay a toll, the other you don%26#39;t...

In the height of the summer, the mid-bay bridge way is a little quicker because of traffic on 98 though...

Hey, I have the same question, as we%26#39;ll be making 2 runs to pick up our kids on 2 different nights. How bad will traffic be on a Fri night at 5:00?

I%26#39;m not trying to be facetious but the traffic is at it%26#39;s worse at 5:00 here just like anywhere else. I personally always go through FWB and use HWY 98 to the airport. If you are staying east of the mid-bay bridge then it may be better to go through Niceville.

I would go over the bridge and through Niceville. There is some construction in Ft. Walton on Hwy 98 that is slowing traffic right now..
