Best area to visit

I%26#39;m hoping to visit florida for a week to ten days in late september but don%26#39;t really know where to base myself. My boyfriend and I are both 26, not huge drinkers but enjoy a good time. Is it hard to travel around the state, the keys to orlando etc? I%26#39;d apriciate any advice! Thanks!

Best area to visit

Since everyone is looking for something different, that can be a hard question to answer. If you are more into night life, cold water, ocean surf, glitz and glamor, then the east coast would probably be more to your liking. However if you are more into a laid back atmosphere, a bit less commercializm, small coastal towns with great relaxing beaches, and calm, warmer waters, then the gulf coast would be the better choice. That%26#39;s not to say that the left coast is ';primitive'; by any means, but we do have a bit more elbow room here than on the Atlantic coast.

As for getting around, that is not a problem. Florida is not big on mass public transit throughout the state, but we do have a good highway system, and getting around by car is the norm.

Just for you information though, from Key West in the south, up to Jacksonville in the north is over 500 miles. Florida isn%26#39;t that wide, about 150 miles in the center of the penninsula, but it is pretty long!
