Having booked our trip to drive around Naples, Keys and more, can anyone explain the valet parking system. Had a quick look on the forums and some say you can do it yourself. Thanks a lot.
Valet Parking
When you valet park you usually pull up in front of your destination and a valet hands you a ticket and parks your car for you. When you leave, you usually pay the clerk if there is a charge and give them your ticket and the valet will get your car for you. If you are valeting at a hotel then you will be charged on your hotel bill. Parking yourself is not valet parking but self parking. Some hotels do not allow self parking.
Hope this helps.
Valet Parking
So if you have a car, can you try and find other parking, or is it so difficult in some places that valet parking is the only option. Some of the guide book give you suggestions where to park, so if its a public car park is it safe to leave it overnight. I know it will depend where you are staying and the area.
We are staying at La Playa, and it just seems an obscence amonut of money, when you are already paying for your room. We are uded to free parking in the UK.
Thanks
Unfortunately, there is no public parking that I know of around LaPlaya and I do agree that their parking charge is very high.
Check your insurance re valet parking just in case the valet bumps your car!!! might find not covered, i remember reading this on the Orlando Forum last year...laura
Thanks for that will do.
Bear in mind also that you will probably have to tip the valet parking attendant
Mama:
I believe the public garage for Vanderbilt Beach is about 2-3 blocks from La Playa. Is overnight parking permitted there? The flat daily rate is about $6.00.
Gee, that is a very good question, seapointer. It is definitely close enough to walk to LaPlaya. I will try to find out.
I just spoke with Parks %26amp; Recreation. Unfortunately, they do not allow overnight parking in the gargage.
Thanks very much all of you for yuor help.
