Yes, buy a convertor. Almost blew up a computer in London because of ignorance!

voltage converter

This is really, really easy.

Look at each piece of equipment/charger/etc. Look for the data plate which will be attached, printed or embossed on it. These are manadtory for any mains-powered appliance I believe, so it WILL be there somewhere.

And look at the voltage range quoted. US is 110 volts. If your range includes this value (so 100-250, 110-240 are both examples) then you do NOT need any voltage converter - just a physical adaptor.

If your range does NOT include 110 (so 200-240, or just 240 are examples) then this device is unsuitable for US mains.

So, to answer your question (without any ';usually';, ';probably';, ';mine does'; kind of guesswork) go check each appliance for yourself.

All modern electronics usually accept 100-240v and varying hertz - like Scan says, check the power ratings.

If they do not, leave them at home. I do not trust third party voltage converters. Neither does most sensitive electronic equipment.

hi have doen this and it look like i HAVE TO GET ONE,

thanks for the advise everyone

Kat, I take, camcorder, camera, and mobile phone with me and I have never used a voltage converter. I have just used an adapter for when I put them on charge. Okay so they might take a little bit longer to charge, but I just leave stuff on charge while I%26#39;m having a couple of hours chilling round the pool.
