Hi im going to Orlando on the 8th May 09, im flying with Thomsonfly and have upgraded to Premium seats im well looking forward to it but recently been looking at reviews and its not looking good feel like i have wasted my money..Has anybody else traved recently with Thomson???? Thankyou.
FlightsHi Disneylad
You are going to get good reviews and bad, just like with all airline we have good flights and not so good.
We flew with Thompson last April, the IFE is not that good. If you want everthing on the IFE, you have to pay extra.
On the return flight the FA%26#39;S, went missing after they had been around with the food and coffees.
I would not fly with them again,we just might have had a bad flight compared to others. Hey it was only 8 hours of my life, it did not spoil the holiday.
Have a good flight, and have a great holiday.
I hope I have wrote something that is travel related LOL.
FlightsAm going with Thomson in Sept and for the minimal cost of the upgrade in relation to what others get for their money it is a great deal.
If you are going from Gatwick then if flying on the Saturday then you will be in the Thomson plane if the other days then it will be coded as Thomson but is the First Choice flight.
The Thomson is 1'; extra legroom (37';)
the First Choice is 36';.
Both are 767%26#39;s and unless you are willing to pay 4 times as much for you upgrade compared to Virgin then well worth the money.
Even in economy you get 33'; and this is up to 3'; better than Virgin, unfortunately people tend to fly with Virgin just to say they have, and im afraid in this current climate I dont give a damn about the badge im flying with.
You are having the extra baggage allowance (although it is only 5kg more (23kg +7kg hand luggage) and you will be grateful of even that amount extra and priority boarding and free drinks throughout the flight as well as the upgraded tv screens (both size and selections)to keep you amused.
After 9+ hours on the plane you are so grateful of the extra space you get, and you will mainly appreciate the room on the return flight overnight as you will be able to stretch out more and maybe even get some much needed sleep.
Im not a snob far from it but having travelled both economy and having upgraded I will always try to upgrade from now on.
Hi thanks for the reply it helped me put my mind at rest. i am really looking forward to upgrading and getting lots of free boze lol..we are flying from Birmingham so will get the First Choice Flight which i have been on before in 2007 but in ecomeny..when i was in the Econemy class lasttime i noticed that First Choice had Mood Cabin Lighting in Premium. Was wondering if Thomson had this Thanks ?
Hi, we are flying with thomsonfly from glasgow in july but have economy seats. If you dont mind me asking, how much is it to upgrade to premium?
Hi there in reply to the 2 other comments.
Firstly the dates I gave were from Gatwick not Birmingham so you may find that it could be the Thomson flight anyway, just ask those you booked through and they should be able to tell you which it is, but like you have, I travelled with First Choice 3 years ago in economy and thought the Upgrade looked great and was wishing that had upgraded then.
2007 went with T.C.D on their 747 and upgraded to Upper Premium upstairs and had 38'; leg room and it was a totally different experience and made such a great addition to the holiday well worth the 拢249 each it cost.
In reply to the other comment, booked with Thomson 3 days after the collapse of XL and Thomson took care of all the paperwork and gave us the credit while in the shop. The cost of the upgrade was, wait for it 拢99 each rtn, what a bargain at the moment think if you can get it at the moment it is around 拢170 but that could change.
If your not sure then go to www.thomson.co.uk/flights
click on %26#39;flying with us%26#39; tab
click on %26#39;a revolution in long hall%26#39; panel
Check out what you want
Hope this helps all
We payed 拢200 each return..
I think it really depends on the dates you travel and how busy they are.
