I have a friend who is vacationing on the island in April and is renting a house with other family members. The other members of his family are driving down to the island with four kids in a 32 foot motor home.
I was a little concerned when I heard this as I have not seen any motorhomes ';parked'; at rental homes.
To be honest, I have not seen any motor homes anywhere on the island in the years we have been going down.
I also have not seen any boats ';parked'; in the yards of homes on trailers. I have seen them ';parked'; in the garages though.
I have been searching the internet to find out if there are any island restrictions on this matter or if there are only community/home restrictions.
Does anyone know of any restrictions on parking motor homes on the island?
It would be horrible if he drove down from NH in the motorhome only to find out he could not get on the island with it.
I know this really isnt a concern for me to have and they really should just contact their rental agent, but I am curious.
Thanks.
Motorhome parking on the island
oh, boy...
Motorhome parking on the island
Recreational Vehicles
Q: Can I park my RV in my driveway/property?
A: You may park your RV in the driveway as long as it does not block the sidewalk with a City permit affixed to the vehicle in a conspicuous place. You may obtain a 7-day permit at Marco Island City Hall at no charge. You are allowed 28 days per calendar year for RV parking, however not consecutive. NOTE: All applications are required to have a City authorized signature to be effective. (City Ordinance 01-15)
Q: Can you live in an RV parked at your home?
A: No sleeping or living activities are allowed within the vehicle while parked. (City Ordinance 01-15)
Thanks JP-
I did find that after posting last night and sent it off to my friend so he can forward to his family member.
I wonder if the permits are similiar to the residents beach permits....
Can a renter actually get one? With only 28 days available per house, I would have to assume not.
Thanks for your help.
I would also like to know if renters can get temporary passes to resident beach. Thanks.
I don%26#39;t believe temporary resident beach passes are available to non-residents.
after looking online, I found an application on the Marco Island Civic Association web site for a 30-60 day pass to the resident beach. To apply, you must provide a lease agreement of not less than 30 days.
What about down on Goodlands -seem to think there were r.v s there once upon a time??
FYI... the residents beach pass that you can get with a 30 day lease does not allow you to park a vehicle in the parking lot. It is for walk-on access. With a 60 day lease, the beach pass includes parking privileges.
