Best place to stay??!

Hi,

Looking to travel to Miami in May 2009.

Its 3 of us travelling from London, we are looking for somewhere to stay in Miami/Miami beach for the first time.

What hotel is best!!!???? Somewhere lively, possibly close to shopping and beach - maybe within walking distance?

Also with somehwhere to eat nearby over say a 5 day period! haha

Also, in review, what can tourists do in Miami?

Budget is around $420/拢300 a night (in total for 3 people, one room)?

Also, what will the weather be like at this time of the year?

Hi...I hope you enjoy your stay in Miami.

For hotels, it depends if you want to stay in a large cutting-edge hotel or in a smaller Art-deco place. There are lots of good small hotels in Miami, the best large ones on the beach are the Fountainbleu, Loew%26#39;s, and the Ritz-Carlton. Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental in downtown are popular with tourists and very nice as well, although they are much farther from the lively areas of town.

The best restaurants you should try are Joe%26#39;s Stone Crab in Miami Beach (the most famous restaurant in miami...get there early, make a reservation, and walk around for a few hours until they call you), Prime One Twelve, Talula, and Emeril%26#39;s Miami Beach. If you%26#39;re willing to go farther from the tourist areas, try Ortanique on the Mile, Chef Allen%26#39;s, or the Miami River Oyster Bar.

One thing I%26#39;d definitely recommend for things to do is to rent a car or take a guided tour and explore Everglades National Park and the Big Cypress National Preserve. If you%26#39;re into nature and wildlife you will love this - if not there are still plenty of things to do in the city itself. What kind of stuff are you looking to do?
