Bahama Bay Resort and Spa

We%26#39;re thinking of staying at this Accomodation in March. Has anyone been there ? Is the area good for shopping, dare I ask !

We also have friends in Manteo. Iit fairly straightforward to get there from this location?

I have not stayed in BB but rent a home just along FGV so only a few hundreds yards away.The area is up and coming as far as eating goes but for anyhting apart from Wal Mart and Publix you will have to travel to one of the malls.

According to google maps it is a 788 mile drive and takes about 12 hours with no stops but it seems a reasonably straightforward drive.

If you put in Florence Villa Grove Road davenport florida 33897 and Manteo you will get directions.

Stayed there last March. There is nowhere within walking distance to ge shopping, then again noewhere is in America. There is a huge Wallmart Superstore about 5 mins drive away. Brilliant. Wish our Asda/Wallmart was like that. What a selection of different stuff, even Disney merchandise for sale, cheaper as well than in the Parks. There is also along the main street towards Walt Disney World drive a line of shops selling the usual tourist gifts like mugs, t-shirts, souvenirs etc and then a little further on some designer outlets. All within 15 mins drive of Bahama Bay.

Bahama Bay is a fantastic resort, clean and spacious. It is superbly located if you are doing the parks. It only took us 15 mins each day to get to Walt Disnet World drive and all the different parks were off the Drive.

Have a fab time. Jealous.

Bahama Bay is not near any shopping. The nearest best quality shopping is the Premium Outlets which is about a 20 min drive away is traffic is good. There are some shops on 192 bu these are mostly gift shops, where all the shops sell the same stuff. You will need to travel further to get to malls etc. The accommadation is good but at times the pool and bar areas got very busy especially in the evenings. Which was a shame when you wanted a nice quiet relaxing evening. It is a good locaction if you want to be out of the way and takes about 20 mintues min to get to most attractions.

Hi This will be our first time to Florida, we normally stay in 4* star accommodation in european desinations, with 2 kids ages 6 %26amp; 9, our first time driving abroad, any advice your able to give?
