We are flying into Orlando and was wondering the fastest way to the island. We arrive in on a Saturday, so hopefully minimal traffic on highways. How long does it take from orlando? Thanks alot

I-4 towards Tampa. Then I-75 South. Get off at the exit for Hwy 64 (Manatee Ave) which ends at the island%26#39;s Manatee Public Beach.

Yes thats right about 2 hours. If you want a break for coffee or anything to eat, at the half way point, then there is a Cracker Barrel which you will see on the right hand side.

As you come off the I-75 to SR 64, about less than a mile down the road, there is a large Wal Mart on the right hand side, which we use for first night supplies, depending of course what time you are arriving!! The Publix Supermarket on the island is great they have a wide range of all types of food and their deli counter and fresh meats are excellent!
