Trip Report- Day 1 22nd Dec. Magic Kingdom

22nd December- Magic Kingdom:

We were suppose to pick up our car the night before so we could get an early start at MK. However, a delayed flight made it impossible to pick up the car or get the supplies we wanted (picked up a few essentials from the large gift shop in the hotel). So, we had breakfast at 7 am and took a taxi to the car rental place. We were there for 7:45 am and they opened for 8. I figured, good, no problem, we should be in the MK parking lot for 8:30 and won%26#39;tbe too late. WRONG! When it opened the computers decided to shut down! What was suppose to take only 10-15 minutes took an hour! I worked very hard to remain calm and finally we were given a car which I took the sat nav as well. I was glad to have the sat nave on several occassions during our stay because of various reasons. It saved me LOADS of time!

Finally get to the MK parking lot at 9:30 am and into the park at 10 am. We had bought our tickets before leaving the UK and it was nice not to worry about that.

I had a Tour Plan in hand and went straight to Tomorrowland. There were people all about and I kept warning everyone in our group not to expect a whole lot of riding and to just chill.

Went straight to Space Mt. for fast passes which were for only a 1 1/2 hours later. Checked the standby line for Buzz Lightyear (20 min.) and got in line. Everyone enjoyed the BL ride, including the 2 1/2 year old! ';Do it again';'; he kept saying! From there we decided to go to Monsters Inc. The rest were afraid to miss the fast pass time. But, I knew from on here that as long as it was past the time, it would be no problem and the Monsters Inc. time said 15 min. So off we went to that! Again, everyone really enjoyed the show! I loved the interactive aspects! Then it was off to Space Mt. for with fast passes. We took turns as the 2 1/2 year old couldn%26#39;t ride. When we went, we got through and within min. we were pulled from the line to fill in the seats. It took us only about 5 min.! From there I picked up my mandatory Christmas Minnie Mouse ears! All the Christmas stuff was 50% off with lots of t-shirts and hats 40%! We got some great deals! We were headed to Fantasyland when son kept crying to drive the cars. So, looked at the line and time (30 min.) and decided to get in line. A CM started telling everyone that the time was wrong and that it was an hour. We all looked at each other, decided we had done well with the other rides with short times and stayed in line. 20 min. later we were in our cars and driving away! Off to FL and a stop at Pooh%26#39;s Corner. Son LOVED it! It was a chilly day and we were all in fleeces. But that didn%26#39;t stop son from playing in the fountains. While half of us changed him into dry clothes, the rest went off to pick up something to eat, hot dogs and fries. Not the best of lunches, but it hit the spot. After eating, the carrousel had a 15 min wait time, so we hoped on. Then it was off to It%26#39;s a Small World. That was our longest wait time of 30 min. By this time we are starting to drag. It was 3 pm and jet lag was setting in. So we decided to head home. Except, it was parade time and we got diverted to Frontierland! Splash Mt. had no wait time so we hopped onto that one and had a fantastic laugh with a family that rode with us! The parade had ended and we kept making our way out the park. As we went through Adventureland, you guessed it! Pirates of the Carribean had only a 15 min wait time and off we went on that one as well!

FINALLY, we made it to Main Street. We stopped to get our FREE trading pin with the voucher given to us when we parked and then out the park. We were exhausted but shocked by what we had been able to do with only waiting a max of 25 min.

Trip Report- Day 1 22nd Dec. Magic Kingdom

Sounds like a good first day, except for the car rental. I guess something has to go wrong.

Personally, I would not have booked with them as we had a car rentalplace in our hotel. However, the travel agent did the booking before I realised it. Otherwise it was fine.
