Hi I was just wondering whether realistically we are going to have any problems with public transport connections if we are staying at the Kingston Reef.. address 12000 international Drive. We will be there from late june to just before 4th July.
As we are both in our 20s and more than used to using public transport we are not going to be hiring a car, we will be taking taxi to and from the aiport and then utilising the Lynx buses and I-Trolley. We are not going to be doing any of Disney Parks instead we are going to be picking up the 3in1 Seaworld, Busch (free shuttle for this i think included?)and Aquatica ticket. The only other places we would want to visit beyond I-Drive are Old Town Kissimee for the Saturday night car show, a couple of Dinner shows and maybe if not too much hassle Gatorland?
So what are everyones opinions? whats the immediate area round the timeshare like? anywhere good for breakfast?

Google tells me this is on I-Drive near its intersection with Westwood Blvd. This part of I-Drive is well served by LYNX buses and the I-Ride trolley (although I have to suggest that, for the most part, you concentrate on using LYNX, because it will take you anywhere the trolley does, with greater comfort, greater frequency and for longer hours; and, unlike the trolley, will take you anywhere else you%26#39;re likely to go).
Sea World and Aquatica - LYNX 8 will take you.
Busch Gardens - you%26#39;ll need the shuttle express which picks up at Sea World. Take an 8 to get there.
Dinner Show - depends on which/where.
Gatorland - LYNX 42 from I-Drive to the Florida Mall, then transfer to LYNX 4 southbound.
Old Town - LYNX 8 to Sea Harbor Drive (near Sea World). Cross the street, LYNX 50 to Disney%26#39;s Transportation %26amp; Ticket Center, then transfer to LYNX 56 to Old Town. (Watch for times of last connection back home - or be prepared to take a taxi).
I%26#39;m not sure about breakfast in the immediate area; I don%26#39;t recall anything compelling nearby when I was last there (almost a year ago). But there are plenty of choices along I-Drive (so, again, get bus 8 or 42).
You can get a weekly pass for all LYNX buses (so you can use the entire network) for $16 from the ';Official Visitor Center'; which is half a block north of Bahama Breeze on I-Drive - look for a orange/yellow/black ';i'; sign - go to the back of the adjacent parking lot. If you do this, then just use 8 or 42 for local rides along I-Drive instead of the trolley (LYNX pass not valid on trolley and vice versa). LYNX 8 and 42 cover pretty much the same route and stops in mostly the same places as the trolley mainline.

Public Transport staying at Kingston Reef
We just spent Christmas week at Kingstown Reef thru WorldMark and it was a comfortable property - a bit dated, but perfectly adequate for the small amount of time we spent in it. The staff was super friendly.
There were 6 of us and we were all about Disney, so driving was really our only option. But there was a bus stop directly in front of the property and we saw I-Trolleys pretty regularly, so you should have good luck with that. SeaWorld and Aquatica are only about a 10 minute drive from the condos by car, just for some perspective. Can%26#39;t offer any input on your other destination locations.
There are no stores or restaurants that we found in the immediate area, but all that stuff is about a mile and a half down the road on Vineland (opposite direction from SeaWorld) including a Publix grocery store. A good piece of info is Publix closes at 10:00pm. We got in late and had just enuf time to grab something for breakfast the next morning. Had to go back the next day to do our serious shopping. There is an outlet mall right there, too, if shopping%26#39;s your thing. Plus, our big find was a great Cuban/Mexican restaurant called Nacho%26#39;s Grill, on the other side of Outback. We%26#39;d definitely go there again, given the opportunity.
I hope some of this information is helpful. Hope you have a wonderful time!
Thanks for your help...
how about in relation to Old Town Kissimee? is this close?
It%26#39;s not that far as the crow flies, but it%26#39;s a bit of a convoluted bus journey. The good news is that the routes are largely express and so fairly quick as bus rides go.
Bus 8 northwards to the intersection of Sea Harbor Blvd and Central Florida Parkway (few minutes only). Cross the street. Bus 50 to Disney%26#39;s Transportation %26amp; Ticket Center (35 minutes). Then bus 56 to Old Town (15-20 minutes). Frequency of 50 and 56 is every 30 minutes.
Oops - I see I already gave that info above.
Wow that is a bit of an ackward journey... any ideas about how much a cab would be? it doesnt seem that far on the map?
6.7 miles; $16.30 each way.
