Anyone stay at Dove Creek?

We are headed there around christmas and would love to hear your thoughts. Things to do nearby? Restaurants? Good ideas for kids ages 9, 8 and 3.

Anyone stay at Dove Creek?

Friends and Family have stayed at Dove Creek and loved it. It%26#39;s clean and upscale - and small. There%26#39;s a pool but not really a beach area (don%26#39;t want you to be surprised by that). Snappers is a reaturant that shares the campus. You will want to go to Morada Bay one night - it%26#39;s on the pricey side but it has a sandy beach that your kids will play on while you eat a slightly more relaxed grown up meal. Get there before sunset for a great view.

I%26#39;m going to post my day trip to Key Largo and the Everglades for you. You should do everything on this list plus Jacobs Acquatic Center.

Jacobs is a water playground. Everyone will have a great time there. Also hit Theatre of the Sea (Islamorada) - very low key, old style FLorida with cool touch tanks and dolphin and sea lion shows

Awesome insight!! Thanks for the great response. We are really looking forward to our trip. We are trying to decide between fishing with capt mel and doing the dolphin swim/sea lion swim at theater of the seas (9,8 and 3 yo kids). Decisions decisions...

I think 8 and 9 may be young to swim with the dolphins. My 8 yo son was very intimidated. We waited until my daughter was 11 and she had a much better time. There%26#39;s still lots to do at TOTS for your group - and with the dolphin and sea lion show, you can get some interaction. The sea lion kissed my daughter and she (the daughter) helped in the dolphin show.

ANother dining spot for your crowd (more lunch than dinner) is Chili Willis in Islamorada. They have an attached game room so with a few bucks in hand, the kids can go play while you and spouse chat.

Thanks for the input everyone. We fished with Mel and had a GREAT TRIP! We didn%26#39;t last on the water a long time, some sea sick passengers, but we caught a lot of fish and had a great time.

We had our 9 yo swim with a sealion, 8 yo painted with a sealion and 3 yo waded with the dolphins, that was a fantastic experience for everyone!

We did find chili willi also, and spend a couple hours at the arcade for some down time!!
