anyone got any idea (i know its like how long is a piece of string lol) of what the dollar rate could be in august????? when we went last time we got 2$ to the pound in August 2006 - dont think we will be as lucky this year.

The recent drop in the pound%26#39;s value was unprecedented and of course the international financial situation is unprecedented. My own inexpert bet would be that extremely low interest rates in the US will inevitably erode the dollar%26#39;s value.
Wish I had a crystal ball......
There is **NO** way to predict this at all.
I did some research into this as we are going to Florida in August and I would hope to have it at between $1.60 and $1.74 to the 拢
interest rates are going lower for both the UK and USA but the US seems to be in so much more trouble then the UK. They are going to have to pump billions into their econemy to prop it up.
Of course I could be miles out but from what I read it seems that the 拢 will rise from todays levelsby a fair amount.

All anyone can do at the moment is speculate. It is impossible to know what will happen in the future. I just hope it doesn%26#39;t drop any lower than it is as I have 2 trips to the US planned for next year.
its interesting listening to peoples predicitions for next year. i too hope the dollar increases in worth 1.6 to 1.74 would be fantastic i think. long gone are the days of 2. to the pound!
has the value of things increased much in orlando since 2006????. will it make much difference?
Like everywhere prices have increased in and around Orlando since 2006 and I think that they will continue to go up for a short while longer. As for what the dollar will do against the pound, there is no way to predict that.
Sorta like predicting oil would drop from $150+/barrel to $35 in less than a couple of months.
The pound will, without a doubt, be worth exactly $1.34 on the 1st August.
I did read some analyst%26#39;s prediction of better rates from April into the summer. I don%26#39;t know how the heck they have the confidence to state this stuff in the news, but yeah - I had read of the fall to below $1.50 by November and that came true.
Problem is we next travel in March. Oh well!
